The mission of Visible Men is to elevate black boys and men to new heights of achievement, fulfillment, happiness and societal contribution by connecting young black boys, and those who care for them, with successful black men. We are unique in our emphasis on success imagery – educating around what is working for black boys and men in America, rather than what is failing.

Our fundraising efforts are presently focused on 3 areas of need:

1.Capacity Building/General Operations: Visible Men uses the expertise of a business development consultant, virtual administrative support team, legal advisors and other professional staffing consultants. We also utilize cutting edge media equipment to ensure the finest quality of photo, video and web content for our mission. Funds are needed to support these operating costs as well as additional administrative costs as we expand.

2. Pilot Expasion Funding The inVision Project/Visible Men Academy: Our program for schools and community agencies, the Visible Men Academy immerses participants in the study of success achievement and fulfillment. Students engage with accomplished black men in their communities to create written, audio, and video reports on their subjects. These reports are the basis for inVision Project group discussions that are facilitated by school representatives with the support of local Visible Men. Funds for this project will be allocated for program materials and success kits (download Holiday Wish List PDF here), as well as compensating the InVision Project Coordinators.

3. Curriculum Development/Research & Development Visible Men continues to seek the most relevant research and best practices from thought leaders, scholars and professionals who focus on the unique challenges of African American male youth and how to enhance their educational and pro social outcomes. As an organization that embraces the positive power of technology, we are determined to design a cutting edge virtual curriculum that is dynamic and accessible to the masses.
