To be a Visible Man, you must be a black man who:

  • • Strives toward your own optimal physical, mental, emotional, spiritual health, and possesses self-pride,
  • • Is involved in healthy and nurturing relationships and considers yourself as part of a family,
  • • Is formally educated beyond high school,
  • • Is established in a professional field and/or is pursuing a career and financial stability
  • • Reveals a substantial and ongoing commitment to service beyond self, and
  • • Cares deeply about the future of our young black boys.

  • • Share your story and insights with black boys, and those who support them.

As a Visible Man, you may also:

  • • Provide commentary through the VM Success Network
  • • Participate in local, regional, or national Visible Men speaking campaigns to share your story

I am aware of the significance of this declaration and proudly accept the responsibility of past, present, and future personal, professional, and social conduct that accompanies it.
